Editor's Note: This review has been removed from our side-by-side comparison because it no longer ranks as a top 10 product. The original review is below, but check out our current top 10 about contact management here.
Prophet is a customer tracking software that integrates with Microsoft Outlook. Prophet isn't the only contact management software we reviewed that allows you to import your contact information from email or allow you to export information to your email; however, Prophet is the only one that you use inside your email program. This means you can have all of your contact information stored in a more organized manner within Microsoft Outlook.
Prophet has many of the tools you find in other client management software. This includes data importing, customer account portals and customer interaction tracking. Additionally, Prophet offers tools for email marketing campaigns, company profiling, tracking sales and employee performance reviews at no additional cost. This is something that isn't offered by all customer management software we reviewed.
You can connect purchased products and service calls to each of your clients using the tools in Prophet under the Products/Service tab. The information used in the Products/Service tab can be shared with employees throughout your company, allowing you to use this customer tracking software to collaborate about possible business opportunities. You can assign contacts and tasks to specific employees to facilitate tracking.
Using the Report Manager, you can compile company and client data into reports such as account sales, opportunities, pipeline forecasts and win/loss comparisons. These reports help you determine more aggressive marketing strategies, view company progress and even track your competition and its influence on your future forecasts.
This contact management software is cloud based. This means you don't have to dedicate in-house server space to maintaining your contact database. IT support for Prophet will also deploy all software updates, eliminating some IT hassles with the use of this program.
Prophet is housed within Outlook, which helps with the program's ease of use, but there is somewhat of an initial learning curve with finding folders and functions. The tools within Prophet look like other Outlook folders, so it will be difficult for those accustomed to using a stand-alone contact management software.
Prophet does have support options available if you need a little extra help. Online tutorials are easy to follow, and the FAQs section has answers to many common questions. Once you familiarize yourself with the program, Prophet is quite simple to use. You can, however, contact support personnel through email and via telephone. We found that our questions were answered quickly and politely when we contacted Prophet.
Prophet is a quality contact management software. We tested the Prophet version that runs within Outlook. The tools included with the software fill most necessary needs for client management software. While it's an adjustment to use the features inside Outlook, once you get the hang of it, you will probably find it convenient.
